Paris shopping
Walking through Paris is great, because of it's architecture, buildings, parcs and other highlights. But hey, let's not forget: also for shopping. At every point there a beautiful little shops or design stores to walk in to. One minute I was visiting Place des Vosges in Le Marais, the next minute I had bought a pair of Bensimon sneakers. And in the 7th arrondissement, I visited Museé d'Orsay, but also went to the Conran Shop, where you can find beautiful design.
Needless to say: hop in to a shop when you get the chance. That is more fun than going shopping for a whole afternoon, as I found out. I've listed a few great ones (yes, it's worth to walk one street further for them) per area/arrondissement below.
Merci, 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais
One of the most beautiful stores I've seen in a long time. Accidentally we walked in via the café/second-hand bookstore, what a great concept! Everything is decorated beautifully and every single product they sell is designed with care. I could have bought a million things.. They sell clothes, furniture (new and second-hand), jewelry, accessories, kitchen ware, etc. etc.
Home Autour du Monde, Besimon concept store, 8 rue des Francs Bougeois
Nice shop with a Bensimon collection of shoes and clothes, but also with a little furniture collection (lamps, chairs, tables).
Petit Pan, 10bis rue Yvonne le Tac and 95 rue du Bac
A colorful shop where you can find toys, fabric and other gimmicks for children. Especially the kites (cerfs-volants in French) caught my eye: beautiful.
Cosi Loti, 21 rue Houdon
Home and fashion accessories.
Reine, 3-5 Place St. Pierre
When you are looking for fabric for clothes, furniture, DIY's, you really should go to Reine. They have all kinds of fabrics and it's impossible to not find anything of your taste. It's a clear and calm store.
Dreyfuss - Marché St. Pierre, 2 rue Charles Nodier
Dreyfuss is the opposite of Reine. It's kind of a chaos inside with 5 floors full of fabric and busy personnel. Just because of that, it's really worth to take a look. Just like Reine, they have all sorts of beautiful fabric.
Artazart Design Bookstore, 83 Quai de Valmy
Bookstore where I spotted the Tour de France prints, but also found a great collection of design books, vintage camera's, lamps, bags etc.
Bensimon, mentioned above, is right next door, with a collection of shoes and clothes.

Deyrolle, 46 Rue du Bac
A beautiful store which will suprose you with it's still collection of large mammals, magnificent mounted birds and other beautiful natural wonders. No. 1 to go and see!

The Conran Shop, 117 Rue du Bac
A design store with furniture and homeware. Fun fact: the building was designed by Gustav Eiffel.
Bonton Bazar, 122 Rue du BacA mekka for fun things for furniture, linen, toys, or small gimmicks for children.
